If Rahul does not win the Maharashtra elections, will it prove to be a big setback in his/her 20-year career?

New Delhi: The 288-member Maharashtra Assembly elections will prove to be a big test for many people. One of them is Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Recently, during the election campaign in Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi strongly raised the issue of Constitution and caste census in his/her public meetings. This was the same issue due to which BJP’s position in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh became weak in the Lok Sabha elections. This time too Rahul Gandhi has played the same game in Maharashtra. Rahul Gandhi had raised the same issue in Jharkhand also. Let us know whether this issue can give Rahul an edge in elections again and again or whether it will prove to be a big setback in his/her 20 years of cowardice. Let us understand that with the election results, will question marks be raised on Rahul’s politics also?

What did Rahul say during the election campaign?

Rahul Gandhi said in the election rally in Maharashtra, the Constitution talks about equality, one person-one vote, respect for all and every religion, caste, state and language. The voices of Savitribai Phule and Mahatma Gandhi are in the Constitution. But BJP and Sangh are attacking the Constitution. his/her attack is an attack on the voice of the country.

Rahul also raised the issue of caste census

Rahul also talked about caste census in his/her public meetings. In a public meeting, he/she said that if caste census is conducted then it will be known what kind of injustice is being done to Dalits, OBCs and tribals. Everyone will know how much power they have and what their role is. he/she also said that we will break the wall of 50 percent reservation limit.

What is the mathematics of castes in Maharashtra?

Dalit population in Maharashtra is approximately 12%. Whereas OBCs are about 38 percent, tribals are 9 percent and Marathas are about 28 percent. Rahul Gandhi is trying to woo these classes by talking about the Constitution and reservation. Its effect was also seen in the Lok Sabha elections, when Dalits and OBCs were divided in Maharashtra and a major part went to Mahavikas Aghadi. Because of this he/she got a big victory.

Why does Rahul challenge the Sangh in Nagpur?

A few years ago, during Bihar elections, Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat gave a statement on reservation, after which BJP suffered a lot. Rahul Gandhi said in the election rally in Maharashtra that the Sangh will secretly attack the Constitution. They do not dare to attack directly from the front, because they know that if they attack from the front, they will be defeated within 5 minutes. This attack of Rahul is like a challenge to the Sangh in many ways.

What happened during the Lok Sabha elections

In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, the India Alliance was successful in winning 30 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Congress had won the maximum 13 seats. BJP reduced from 22 to 8. Rahul had made a strategy to try this mantra of his/her victory once again in the Maharashtra assembly elections.

Rahul started with Nagpur rally

Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge had participated in the program of Maha Vikas Aghadi to be held in Mumbai after the Constitution Honor Conference in Nagpur. There is a strategy to solve the political equation of Vidarbha with Nagpur rally, where Dalit and OBC voters are in large numbers. Congress had got more seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra only from Vidarbha belt and Marathwada region. That is why Congress is focusing on these areas in the assembly elections and is trying to solve the caste equation.

When Rahul Gandhi announced his/her entry into politics in 2004

In March 2004, Gandhi announced his/her entry into politics. he/she said he/she would contest the 14th general election for the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, from his/her father’s former constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Till that time his/her mother Sonia Gandhi used to contest elections from this seat. After this, Sonia started contesting elections from Rae Bareli constituency in the neighborhood of Amethi. At the time when Rahul made this announcement, people were quite surprised about it, because political experts considered Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi to be more charismatic and a possible successor. In such a situation, if Congress does not win the Maharashtra elections, then questions may be raised on Rahul’s leadership and strategy.

How BJP turned the tables in Haryana

The results of Haryana Assembly elections had proved most of the election analysts wrong. After being in power for ten years, BJP formed the government for the third consecutive time. BJP won 48 out of total 90 assembly seats in the state. It was being said that these elections would not be easy for the ruling BJP, which lost 5 out of 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Before the results, from social media to TV channels, the issue of farmers, soldiers and wrestlers was being held responsible for BJP’s defeat.

These factors were responsible for BJP’s victory in Haryana.

In the year 2014, BJP formed the government for the first time in Haryana. The party appointed Manohar Lal, who comes from non-Jat i.e. Punjabi Khatri community, as the Chief Minister. With this, the party started mobilizing the non-Jat community in the state. BJP also fought the 2019 assembly elections on his/her own face. In the 2024 assembly elections also, the party chose Naib Saini, who comes from the OBC community. In the elections, a narrative was created regarding Jats that if Congress government came to power, Bhupendra Singh Hooda would be the Chief Minister. Against this, BJP tried to unite the non-Jat community and in this effort, along with the OBCs, a large part of the Dalit vote bank also went to the party’s account.
