‘Don’t make the mistake of provoking Virat Kohli…’ The veteran gave special advice to the Australian team

New DelhiFormer all-rounder Shane Watson has advised the Australian team to avoid getting into trouble with Virat Kohli in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he/she believes that the passion with which the legendary Indian batsman plays when provoked brings out the best in them. Kohli has been going through poor form in Test cricket for some time now but earlier he/she has performed brilliantly in Australia and he/she will try to regain his/her rhythm in the five-match series starting here at the Optus Stadium from Friday.

Watson said on ‘Willow Talk Podcast’, “One thing I know about Virat is that the passion he/she brings to every ball in the match is fantastic. But in recent times, there have been moments when this fire inside him/her has started to extinguish because it is very difficult to maintain that pace in every moment of the match. Australia has mostly had to bear the brunt of Kohli’s provoking and Watson. Have also experienced this.

Kohli has played 13 Tests in Australia since 2011 and during this period he/she has scored 1352 runs at an average of 54.08 with the help of six centuries and four half-centuries, of which 169 runs is his/her best performance.
