China started coming on line! Foreign Minister Jaishankar clears the picture regarding dragon on border dispute

New Delhi: After the border agreement between India and China, things are progressing as per schedule. The Dragon, which had been stubborn for a long time, has changed its course. Signs of this change started appearing only after PM Modi’s meeting with Xi Jinping in China. Now the matter has moved forward in the G-20 meeting in Brazil. Here Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met his/her counterpart Wang Yi. Along with this, Jaishankar also clarified the picture regarding China’s stance.

What did Jaishankar say on dragon?

This was the first high-level conversation between the two sides after the completion of the process of withdrawal of troops from the two points of confrontation along the LAC. Jaishankar and his/her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi reviewed the process of withdrawal of troops from the borders of Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh in a meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit.

Jaishankar said after his/her talks with Wang that the two sides also exchanged views on the next steps to be taken towards India-China bilateral relations. Earlier, Jaishankar said, I am happy to note that the implementation of that understanding at the ground level has progressed as planned.

Recently, President Xi Jinping met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the BRICS summit held in Kazan. China is ready to work with India to advance important common understanding between the leaders of the two countries, enhance communication and cooperation, and enhance strategic mutual trust.

Hint before Jaishankar’s meeting

Ahead of the Jaishankar-Wang Yi meeting, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the country is ready to implement the important common understanding reached between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said this while answering a question on the possibility of a meeting between PM Modi and Xi on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

The spokesperson made it clear that China stands ready to work with India to implement important common understanding between the leaders of the two countries, enhance communication and cooperation, and enhance strategic mutual trust.
