Sanju-Tilak’s century, many records broken, India’s second highest total in T20


New Delhi. On the basis of wicketkeeper Sanju Samson’s third career century and Tilak Verma’s second consecutive century, India made a record in South Africa. Sanju scored his/her second century in the current series, while Tilak scored second back to back centuries with his/her bat. Both the batsmen made a record partnership of 210 runs. Batting first at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, India scored 283 runs for 1 wicket, which is its second highest score in this format. Sanju and Tilak made a record-breaking partnership of 86 balls for the second wicket.

This is the highest score ever made by India in T20 International on foreign soil and by any country on South African soil. Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma made an unbeaten partnership of 210 runs in just 93 balls for the second wicket, which was also the biggest partnership for any wicket in this format for India. Many records were broken during the match, the most special record of which was two Indian batsmen scoring centuries in the same T20 International innings. 22-year-old Tilak from Hyderabad hit nine fours and 10 sixes in just 47 balls, making him/her the second Indian to score consecutive centuries in T20 international cricket.

Sanju Samson hit 6 fours and 9 sixes
Samson, who scored a brilliant century in the first match, faced 56 balls and hit six fours and nine sixes in his/her century innings. Along with Verma, Samson once again defeated the South African bowlers. Verma looked full of confidence and enthusiasm at number three. Samson has scored three T20 International centuries in the last five innings, including being out for a duck twice, while Verma has scored two consecutive T20 International centuries. Samson completed 100 runs in 51 balls with six fours and eight sixes. And Verma played 41 balls to complete his/her century which included six fours and nine sixes. South Africa’s bowlers bowled 17 wide balls to control the panic.

Sanju Samson has become the first cricketer in the world to score three centuries in a calendar year in the history of T20 International cricket. he/she achieved this milestone in the fourth T20 of the series.
