Young batsman impressed Dhoni, call came before IPL 2025 auction

New Delhi. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is very impressed with the batting of Mumbai’s young batsman Ayush Mhatre. Chennai Super Kings has called Ayush for trials before the IPL mega auction. Right-handed batsman Ayush has played an inning of 176 runs in Ranji Trophy last month. Mhatre made his/her debut in first-class cricket this year. Since his/her debut, he/she has impressed everyone with his/her batting. IPL Mega Auction 2025 will be organized for two days. The auction will start on November 24 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Before this auction, all the 10 teams are busy making their own strategies.

According to media reports, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been impressed by the batting of Ayush Mhatre, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai. CSK has requested Mumbai Cricket Association to allow Ayush for trial. It is being told that AYUSH trial may take place before the IPL 2025 mega auction. Ayush started his/her first class cricket career from Mumbai through Irani Cup this year. After this his/her performance was excellent.

Scored 321 runs in 5 matches
In his/her short domestic career, Ayush Mhatre has scored a total of 321 runs in 5 first class matches at an average of 35.66. This also includes his/her brilliant inning of 176 runs which he/she played against Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy. Ayush attracted the attention of CSK scouts with his/her innings. The aggressive batting of this young batsman has brought all the franchise teams of IPL into their radar. Everyone is surprised to see Ayush’s maturity at such a young age.

Mhatre played an unbeaten inning of 127 runs against Maharashtra last month. The maturity with which he/she formed partnerships with world class batsmen like Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer in Ranji Trophy is commendable. he/she played this innings with the bat of Prithvi Shaw. Prithvi had gifted him/her this bat. Mhatre will reportedly give trials during the break between the fifth round of Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Through this he/she can make his/her place in IPL. CSK MD and CEO Kasi Vishwanathan has sought permission from MCA to send Mhatre for trials. Dhoni has been expressing confidence in the young players for CSK from the beginning. he/she has always been giving opportunities to young players. Mhatre is also one of them.
