Trying to set the narrative in their favor on reservation and Constitution, know what is the plan of BJP-Congress

New Delhi: Like the Lok Sabha elections, political parties are also trying to set the narrative in their favor on reservation and Constitution in the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. The NDA alliance led by BJP and Congress and its partner parties are continuously talking on this. While BJP leaders are continuously saying that Congress wants to snatch reservation from tribals, Dalits and backward classes and give it to Muslims, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is promising to conduct caste census and abolish the 50% limit of reservation.

Amit Shah targeted Rahul Gandhi

At an election rally in Jharkhand, BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi insulted and mocked the Constitution by showing a fake copy of it. Shah said that BJP will never allow Congress to implement reservation for minorities. BJP leaders are accusing Congress that Congress is against giving reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBC).

Shah claimed that Congress has promised 10% reservation to minorities while meeting a delegation of Ulemas in Maharashtra. Also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, BJP will never allow reservation on the basis of religion. On the other hand, Congress is taking forward its Lok Sabha election narrative.

‘We will remove the artificial barrier of 50 per cent on reservation’, why Congress sees future in Caste Census!

Rahul Gandhi said- People of INDIA alliance are protecting the Constitution.

In an election rally in Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi said that the people of INDIA alliance are protecting the Constitution while the people of BJP and RSS want to abolish the Constitution. In Jharkhand, Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are continuously campaigning that BJP will abolish the rights of tribals by changing the Constitution.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Constitution itself guarantees tribals and backward people their rights. While Congress is making caste census an issue and promising it, BJP has used the slogan ‘If we divide, we will cut’ or ‘If we are united, we will be safe’ as a counter to it. BJP leaders are talking on this narrative in all the election rallies.

Did BJP learn a lesson from the Lok Sabha elections?

Even during the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had created a narrative that if BJP came to power, it would change the Constitution and end the reservation for Dalits and backward classes. This narrative started working and when the BJP leaders realized this after a few phases of the elections, they started countering this narrative. BJP leaders admit in informal conversations that the narrative created by Congress about changing the Constitution has been damaged. Also they are saying that now the situation is not the same. Now we are countering every narrative of Congress.
