Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2007 release ‘Saawariya’ may not have been his/her biggest box office hit, but it is still remembered for two reasons. At first, ‘Saawariya’ was teased as a ‘blue film’ due to its blue-tone color grading. Secondly, this film launched not one but two star kids, named Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. However, it was later revealed that Rishi Kapoor was not very happy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Recently he/she has spoken openly about this. Today ‘Saawariya’ is celebrating 17 years of its release and on this occasion Sanjay Leela Bhansali sat for an interview with Times Now. Meanwhile, the director revealed that Ranbir Kapoor’s father Rishi Kapoor used to ask him/her for the screening of the film. However, Sanjay absolutely refused as the film was not completed.

Sanjay further told that he/she often got messages from Neetu Kapoor to watch the film. However, he/she ignored them and refused to show even a single frame to the two, saying that the film was not ready.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali also said that when the film was finally completed and Rishi Kapoor came to see it, his/her anger did not subside. Instead the actor was completely stunned and said that this film would ruin his/her son’s career. Well, he/she was not alone in feeling this way. Sanjay said, ‘he/she was not alone. Sanjay had a tremendous team

However, despite all the criticism, Sanjay had a great team. he/she told Times Now, ‘I had a good team of actors. Ranbir, Sonam completely agreed with me. They were like clay that was molded into beautiful shapes. I am very proud of where Ranbir has reached and I also had two great actors Begum Para and Zohra Sehgal.
