Hindu organizations have called for protests today against “Khalistani threat”

Following the recent attacks on Hindu temples in Canada, the Coalition of Hindus of North America (COHNA) has called for peaceful protests today to show solidarity against the “Khalistani threat” and “anti-Hindu” hatred.

Protests have been called for Monday at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton and the Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Surrey.

“Join us for a peaceful protest tomorrow, November 4 at 6pm at Hindu Sabha Mandir, Brampton and Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Surrey,” CoHNA posted on Twitter.

It said, “After a day of violence against Hindu temples in Canada, let’s unite against Khalistani intimidation and anti-Hindu hatred.”

An Indian consular camp at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada, witnessed “violent disruption” at an Indian consular camp in Brampton, near Toronto, on Sunday (local time).

Following the attacks, the Hindu Canadian Foundation, a non-profit organization working for the Hindu community in Canada, shared a video of the attack on the temple and said Khalistani terrorists attacked children and women.

The Indian High Commission in Canada condemned the “violent disruption” by ‘anti-India’ elements outside a consular camp. The High Commission also said that any further events would be organized based on the security arrangements made by the local authorities.

“We witnessed violent disruption by anti-India elements outside the consular camp co-organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir, Brampton, near Toronto today (November 3),” the High Commission statement said.

“It is extremely disappointing to see such disruptions being allowed to the routine consular work being organized by our Consulate with the full cooperation of local co-organizers. We are also deeply concerned about the safety of applicants, including Indian nationals, on whose demand such programs are organised, the statement said.

The incident was widely criticized inside and outside Canada. Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre condemned the attack on the Hindu Sabha temple, calling it “completely unacceptable”.

Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya also condemned the attack on the temple and said Khalistani extremists had “crossed the red line”, highlighting the rise of violent extremism in Canada.

Canadian MP Kevin Vuong also condemned the attack and said that “Canada has become a safe harbor for radicals” and said the country’s leaders have failed to protect Hindus in the same way they have failed to protect Christians and Jewish Canadians. Have failed to protect.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the recent attack by Khalistani extremists on the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton. Emphasizing the importance of religious freedom, Trudeau said that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely.

The latest attack adds to a series of similar incidents recorded in recent years, underscoring a worrying trend of religious intolerance.
