Why Kuldeep and Axar Patel were out of Australia tour, BCCI gave information

New Delhi. The Indian team has been announced for the Test series against Australia. The names of spinner Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Akshar Patel are not in the team going on this tour. Both these players could have proved important for India for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, then why have they been kept out. Actually Kuldeep is struggling with fitness problem. Whereas Akshar was not given a chance by the selectors for some other reason.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian Test team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025 against Australia. This series is going to start from 22nd November. One key name is missing from the team, and that is left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep played for India in the first Test against New Zealand earlier this month. However, BCCI has clarified that Kuldeep’s absence is due to injury.

BCCI said in a statement, “Kuldeep Yadav was not available for selection for the Australia tour. “he/she has been sent to the BCCI Center of Excellence for long-term resolution of his/her chronic left groin problem after the ongoing Test series against New Zealand.”

At the same time, Axar Patel has also been kept out of the Indian Test team as he/she has been included in the T20I team for the South Africa tour.
