[ad_1] New Delhi: A Delhi businessman has accused former RAW officer Vikas Yadav of kidnapping, extortion and attempt to murder. Hearing in this case may start soon. American agency FBI is also keeping an eye on Yadav. The FBI has accused Yadav of hatching a failed plot to assassinate Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.Names of 10 witnesses in the charge sheetPeople having knowledge of the case said that the proceedings under Section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are in the final stages. Under this section, it is mandatory to give copies of certain documents presented by the prosecution to the accused. Delhi Police has recorded the names of 10 witnesses in its charge sheet. Seven of these are police officers of the Special Cell. The remaining three include a judicial magistrate, the complainant and a friend of the complainant, who has been described as an eyewitness.Police did not recover the pistolPolice, in the charge sheet filed on March 13, said they could not recover the pistol which Khan had allegedly used to scare the complainant. The police could not even recover the CCTV footage of the complainant's cafe. Rs 50,000 was allegedly recovered from this cafe. Police claim that they have recovered only a gold chain and a ring which Khan had allegedly snatched from the complainant.Accused of demanding money in the name of Lawrence BishnoiAccording to the charge sheet, the complainant alleged that Yadav and Khan kidnapped and threatened him/her. he/she demanded Rs 20 lakh at the behest of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. On December 11, 2023, Walia was taken to the second floor of a flat near Defense Colony, Delhi. According to the victim, two masked people were seen there holding pistols in their hands. Walia claimed that Yadav told him/her that these people were sharp shooters of Lawrence Bishnoi.No mention of Lawrence Bishnoi in the charge sheetAlthough according to the charge sheet, the allegations made in the victim's statement are almost identical to those made in the disclosures of the accused, there is no mention of Bishnoi and his/her sharp shooters in the disclosures of both Yadav and Khan. Instead, Yadav said in his/her statement that he/she had planned with Khan to rob Walia. The motive behind Yadav committing the alleged crime is not clear in the charge sheet.had planned to robOn the other hand, Khan, who reportedly knows Yadav, in his/her disclosure statement told the police that he/she needed the money as his/her business (buying and selling of vehicles) had come to a standstill. According to the charge sheet, Khan revealed during interrogation that he/she had approached Yadav with a plan to rob Walia. The co-accused claimed that Yadav had told him/her about his/her meeting with Walia at a social function in November 2023 and his/her business dealings with foreigners and his/her friends in West Asia.Neither Yadav nor Khan's disclosure mentions extortion of money at the behest of gangster Bishnoi or the presence of sharp shooters at the flat, as alleged by the complainant.Look out circular for Jalaluddin's identityAccording to the charge sheet, Walia was allegedly told that a Dubai-based man named Jalaluddin alias Sameer had given contract to Bishnoi for the murder. Walia claims that Jalaluddin had borrowed money from him/her. Here again, Jalaluddin's name is not in the disclosures of Yadav and Khan. Police said in their charge sheet that Jalaluddin is being identified and after that a look out circular will be opened and he/she will be presented in the court through a supplementary charge sheet.Police have enough evidence against YadavThe police claimed to have collected enough evidence against Yadav and Khan. However, the police also said that during custodial interrogation, both of them did not cooperate fully, due to which the weapon used in the crime could not be recovered. Regarding the CCTV footage, the police said that the DVR installed in the complainant's cafe was taken by some people. On the purchase receipts of the looted jewellery, the complainant told the police that they were gifted to her by her family and friends and she had no bills.Walia alleged that Yadav, with whom he/she had come in contact in November, had called him/her near the NIA office on December 11 and said that Walia's life was in danger. Delhi Police has named only two accused, Yadav and Khan, in its March 13 charge sheet. According to Yadav's lawyer, no supplementary charge sheet has been filed yet.What did Yadav's lawyer say on FBI's claims?Yadav's lawyer RK Handu said that Yadav was shocked to learn about the charges filed against him/her by US authorities related to the alleged assassination attempt on Pannu. he/she told, "I do not believe a word of the FBI's claims. The allegations made against him/her are baseless and completely false. My client is innocent. he/she belongs to a village and is a gentleman."he/she further said, "The FBI is making allegations just because it is getting attention.
