LU News: Students will be able to study half the courses in Lucknow University, 1 year PG also started

The dream of students who were deprived of admission in LU due to less marks, of studying in the university will soon be fulfilled. A new ordinance has been implemented for UG-PG admissions in Lucknow University. Under this, now admissions under lateral entry have also been approved. With this, those taking admission in any college of LU in the first year will be able to study in the university for the second year. However, for this you will have to apply to the university. Governor Anandi Ben Patel has approved the ordinance. Under the new ordinance, students will no longer be forced to complete the entire course from their college. That means, after completing two semesters in college, you will be able to study the remaining semesters in another college or university. Not only this, students of other universities and higher education institutions will also be able to get admission in LU under lateral entry. However, for this it will be mandatory to be registered in the four-year UG program of NEP. All student credits must be uploaded to the Academic Bank of Credit.

LU Lateral Entry: Admission Process

LU spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Srivastava said that every year some students either fail in UG courses or leave studies due to some reasons. Such seats lapse. Under the new system, lateral entry admissions will be taken on these vacant seats only. For this, proper application form will be issued and admission will be taken on the basis of merit. This will eliminate the compulsion to study at any one place and new students will get a chance to study by utilizing the vacant seats. Along with this, for admission in Semester 7, it is mandatory for students to have CGPA 7.5 or more till Semester 6.

The first institute in the country to offer one year PG

One year PG course in LU has also been approved. Under this, students doing four years UG course will be able to do PG in just one year. Till now, students are being given the option of exit after studying in three years of UG course. Such students will not be able to take admission in one year PG course. LU claims that till now one year PG course is not implemented anywhere in the country. In such a situation, LU is the first institute in the country, where this ordinance has been approved.
