‘I have a big responsibility… how was terrorist Nijjar killed’, India’s High Commissioner who returned from Canada exposes Trudeau government

New Delhi: Relations between Canada and India are going through a bad phase. The reason for this is the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canada alleges that India is behind this massacre. India is denying these allegations. In this matter, India has recalled one of its senior diplomats, Sanjay Verma, from Canada. Also, India has expelled 6 Canadian diplomats from the country. Sanjay Verma, who was the High Commissioner of India in Canada, has made a big allegation against the Justin Trudeau government. he/she says that the Canadian government is giving shelter to Khalistanis. After the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had made many serious allegations against India. After this the Government of India recalled Sanjay Verma. In a special interview given to NDTV, Sanjay Verma said that the radicals want to spoil the relations between India and Canada through Canada. he/she also said that he/she can say with certainty that the Indian government has no involvement in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Sanjay Verma said that he/she does not consider Khalistanis as Sikhs. he/she believes that Khalistanis are terrorists and Sikhs never kill anyone.

‘Relations between the two countries have always been very good and will continue…’

Speaking on the relations between India and Canada, Sanjay Verma said that relations between the two countries have always been very good and will remain good in future also. he/she said that there is definitely some sourness in the relations at this time, but this is because of the thinking of Justin Trudeau and his/her team. Sanjay Verma also said that it is not that the matter has suddenly deteriorated. According to him/her, Khalistani and fundamentalists sitting in Canada have always been attacking India and trying to spoil the relations between India and Canada. But Sanjay Verma says that it is the job of the governments to handle such situations and balance things, so that relations between the two countries remain good.

‘Indian government has no involvement in the murder’

Speaking on the role of the Indian government in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Sanjay Verma said, ‘I am saying this with great responsibility… How was Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar murdered, who did it and why? This is a matter of investigation. Investigation is going on… I think until that investigation is over, we will not be able to say why this murder happened and who committed it? The only thing I would like to say is that the Indian government has no role in that murder.

‘…but today’s Indian is not afraid’

Sanjay Verma once again reiterated that Canada has not given a single evidence to India regarding the murder of Nijjar. he/she said that India had informed Canada several times about fundamentalist and terrorist organizations operating in Canada, but the Canadian government did not take any action on it.
The Trudeau government had declared Sanjay Verma a ‘person of interest’ and the Canadian police wanted to interrogate him/her. On this Sanjay Verma said, ‘This is where I wanted to know from him/her. Because, when you want to interrogate someone, first of all tell them why you want to interrogate them. After all, what evidence do they have, due to which they want to interrogate me? If they had shown it to me and told me, I would have understood… but an attempt is being made to threaten me without showing any proof, but today’s Indian is not afraid.

‘Working against India from Canadian soil’

Sanjay Verma said that Khalistani terrorists living in Canada are not Indians but Canadian citizens. These people are working against India from Canadian soil. India only wants that the Canadian government should not work with such people. These people are challenging the sovereignty and integrity of India. Sanjay Verma further said, ‘When children are sent from India to Canada, they are sent with the understanding that they will be safe there. Canadian society is exactly like Indian society. he/she welcomes his/her guests. But, with the present government we felt that India is not welcome there.

Sanjay Verma exposed the Canadian government

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had said in the Parliament there that there is no concrete evidence regarding the murder of Nijjar. he/she had said that intelligence agencies are investigating the matter. But the question is why are the police and PM Trudeau saying different things? In response to this question, Sanjay Verma said, ‘The institutions, departments and police there do their own work. As far as gathering information is concerned, it is done in two ways. Such information is available from open source, which we can read in newspapers. Can read on social media. Other information is not in the public domain. To get this information we will have to do a lot of back and forth work. We have not broken any principle of diplomacy. Canadians do this more than us. These people work deeper than this. We still have such information that their diplomats have entered our society and done many such things, which is not befitting any ambassador.

‘There are a handful of Khalistani people in Canada…’

Sanjay Verma further said, ‘We were collecting information about Khalistani terrorists and will continue to do so. Because this is a matter of security of our enemy and our country. A handful of Khalistanis in Canada are spoiling the system there. Khalistanis intimidate and threaten Indian people. So that a different image can be created for India.
