Both Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Australian Government Education Minister Jason Claire agree on this. Pradhan is currently on a tour of Australia and important talks have taken place between the two regarding cooperation at the school level as well as higher education. Recently, the Indian campus of two Australian universities has been formally inaugurated in the Gift City of Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Is. According to the UGC Regulations 2023, the first foreign campus in India will be of Britain’s Southampton University, in which studies will start from July 2025.

Many foreign universities want to come to India

Campuses of many foreign universities can start in India from next year. As per UGC regulations, many foreign universities have applied. Universities securing place in QS World Ranking and second ranking globally will be given preference. Recently, the Education Minister of India has held talks with representatives of many Australian universities.

Addressing the Australian International Education Conference, Pradhan said that ‘National Education Policy 2020 has transformed India’s education landscape into a center of possibilities. There have been talks to further strengthen partnerships in emerging technologies and to open more campuses of Australian universities in India. Cooperation in education is the cornerstone of India-Australia relations. The establishment of campuses of Australian universities in India is just the beginning. A lot can still be achieved.

The Education Minister also met the Premier of Victoria, which is home to the largest Indian diaspora in Australia. he/she also discussed tie-ups between schools and universities in Victoria with India.

Which courses will start first

At the same time, according to UGC officials, the campus of Southampton University can be started in Gurgaon. At present at least 10 to 15 foreign universities have expressed their desire to start their campuses in India and a decision in this regard may be taken soon. Initially, courses like Computer Science, B.Sc Business Management, B.Sc Accounting and Finance, B.Sc Economics, M.Sc International Management, M.Sc Finance will be offered in the campuses of foreign universities.
