Exclusive: When ‘Ravan’ burns, Pakistan will be saved! PCB could have learned from BCCI on Babar…

(Rajeev Mishra)

New Delhi. The second test has started in Multan amid emergency like situation in Pakistan cricket. But the defeat of the first test is still not coming out of the minds of all the cricket pundits. Former Pakistan leg spinner Danish Kaneria, who has settled in America, holds the Pakistan board responsible for the team’s continuous poor performance. he/she says that there are many Ravanas among those running Pakistan cricket due to which the Pakistan team is going to hell. To bring the team back on track, all these Ravanas will have to be burnt.

Pakistan’s bowling factory locked
In an exclusive conversation with News18 Hindi, Danish Kaneria said that first Pakistan loses the Test against Bangladesh and then after scoring more than 500 runs against England, the team gets eliminated in the Test match, which gives a clear indication that Pakistan’s The bowling factory has been locked. Kaneria, who has taken 261 wickets in 61 Test matches for Pakistan at an average of 34.79, said that today’s Pakistani bowlers neither know how to bowl long spells nor do they have the skill to take wickets. Recalling his/her times, Danish said that Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar knew how to work with the ball. In today’s era, not a single Pakistani bowler knows how to reverse swing. It seems as if Pak pacers have forgotten the use of bouncers. The pitch was like this even before Pakistan, but then the team had an army of wicket-taking bowlers. Today’s Pakistan bowlers are just having fun.

How to form a team with musical chairs
Taking the mystery spinner Abrar to task, he/she said that how can a bowler who does not know how to spin the ball play a test match? While talking to News18 Hindi, Danish further said that as long as nepotism continues in the team selection and people come to the board playing musical chairs, then how will the team be formed. On dropping Babar Azam, Danish Kaneria said that this is a very childish move. Instead of dropping Babar, he/she could have been talked to. Due to absence of any intelligent personality in the board, Babar’s issue could not be handled properly.

PCB can take a lesson from Virat episode
Danish praised BCCI and mentioned Virat. Danish said that Virat also went through a bad phase but BCCI did not drop him/her. But the Pakistan Board, irritated by the defeat, showed Babar the way out. Instead of increasing tension in the team, there is a need to tone up the team. Pakistan’s best bowler in Test cricket is Naseem Shah but he/she too was measured along with Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Pakistan wants to avoid making a flat pitch
Putting the PCB further in the dock, Kaneria said that earlier there were two domestic tournaments and the Quaid-e-Azam departmental trophy. Now there is only Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and players are more focused on PCL due to which the team is going into the abyss in day cricket. Kaneria, saddened by the defeat in two consecutive series at his/her ground, further said that earlier in its condition, Pakistan’s record was like that of India, but the situation has become such that Pakistan is continuously losing matches and is on the floor, while India is at the heights of the sky. . The condition of Pakistan is so bad today that they can neither make a fast pitch nor a turning track. They just try to survive by making a flat pitch and then lose the match. However, Danish believes that the young players will fight in the second test but it will be difficult to defeat England.
