Jaishankar attacks Pakistan on SAARC, says the organization is not able to grow because of it

New Delhi : Foreign Minister S., who is going to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting to be held in Pakistan. Jaishankar, during the Sardar Patel Lecture on Governance program in Delhi on Saturday, said that he/she was planning for this visit, but he/she made it clear that he/she was going there as a good member of the SCO. During this, while referring to SAARC, he/she said that this organization is not moving forward at present. We have not had any meeting with him/her for years. There is only one reason for this and that is that one member of the organization is carrying out terrorist attacks on another.

‘One member of SAARC is carrying out terrorist attacks on another’

S. Jaishankar said that terrorism is an issue with which no compromise can be made. If this continues then we cannot take SAARC forward, but it does not mean that regional activities have stopped. he/she further said that in the last 5-6 years we have seen regional coordination and India’s participation in it.Nothing much is going to happen… Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will visit Pakistan this month, know what is India’s agenda

Jaishankar’s harsh words to Pakistan

Referring to neighboring countries, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that if you look at our relations with Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, you will find that railway lines are being restored. Roads are being built again, electricity grid is being constructed. Let us tell you that SAARC organization was created to coordinate among South Asian countries. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka are its member countries.

‘Middle East is not an opportunity, but a worry’

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that the Middle East is not becoming an opportunity but a matter of deep concern. he/she said that conflict is increasing in the region, and its impact is not only there but on the whole world. he/she said, ‘First we saw a terrorist attack, and then its response. Whatever happened in Gaza after that is in front of everyone. Now this situation is being seen in Lebanon, Israel and Iran also.

Jaishankar also said that whether there is conflict in Ukraine or in the Middle East and West Asia, all these are major factors of instability and serious reasons for concern. he/she warned that these conflicts are having a negative impact on the global supply chain.

Strong reaction on terrorism amid SCO summit

According to experts, India is not very interested in direct dialogue with Pakistan, the main reason for which is Pakistan’s policies supporting terrorism. In such a situation, this visit is not expected to bring any significant progress in bilateral relations. However, India does not want the message to be conveyed to the world that it values difficulties in its bilateral relations more than a collaborative forum like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This is why on one hand, Foreign Minister Jaishankar is lambasting Pakistan on terrorism, while on the other hand, he/she is going to Pakistan to participate in the SCO Summit.
