New Delhi. Due to the new rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, veteran cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni may suffer a loss of crores in the upcoming IPL. Dhoni can play in IPL 2025 as an uncapped player. In the IPL Governing Council meeting, BCCI took many decisions, one of which is such that Dhoni may face a loss of about 66 percent in his/her IPL salary. It has become clear from this rule that Dhoni can play further in IPL. However, till now neither Dhoni nor the franchise has cleared anything regarding playing in this league. People always speculate that this is Dhoni’s last season but Mahi surprises everyone with his/her ‘masterstroke’.

A new rule has been made for uncapped players in the IPL Governing Council meeting. In the next IPL auction, those players who have retired from international cricket 5 years ago will be kept in the uncapped list. Also, he/she should not be in the annual contract of BCCI. he/she will be kept among uncapped players. Dhoni had announced his/her retirement from international cricket in the year 2020. he/she doesn’t even have a BCCI contract. he/she is eligible to play in 2025 IPL. Dhoni played his/her last international match in 2019.

Dhoni’s IPL salary will be cut like this
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) had resigned from the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings team before the start of the IPL 2024 season. he/she was then retained by CSK for Rs 12 crores. If CSK retains 43-year-old Dhoni as an uncapped player, then his/her salary will increase by crores. Under the new rule, uncapped players will be retained for Rs 4 crore. Franchises can retain 6 players
It has always been the case in IPL that every time in the mega auction, a limit was fixed for retaining foreign and Indian players, however, this time there is no limit for retaining foreign and Indian players. If the franchise wants, it can retain all five Indian or five foreign players. 10 franchises can keep 2 uncapped players among the 6 retained players. Teams will have to spend Rs 79 crore on retaining 6 players. After this the teams will be left with Rs 41 crore.
