PM Modi left for America tour, described Quad as a group of like-minded countries

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for the US tour this morning. Modi will stay here till September 23. Apart from attending the Quad summit, the PM will also address the UN General Assembly. Before leaving for the US, PM Modi said that the Quad is a major group of like-minded countries working for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi will also meet President Joe Biden. However, nothing has been said about his/her meeting with Donald Trump.Modi will meet these leaders of Quad
In the US, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the Quad – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden during the Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. This will be the first event of the three-day visit. Modi said that I look forward to joining my colleagues President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Kishida at the Quad Summit. This forum has emerged as a leading group of like-minded countries working for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. he/she further said that my meeting with President Biden will help us review and identify new avenues to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and global good.

Modi’s address at the UN General Assembly
The Quad leaders will launch a special campaign for cancer prevention, detection and treatment, called Cancer Moonshot, during their summit. They are also expected to take steps to promote the group’s work in key areas such as maritime security, health security, connectivity, infrastructure, disaster relief and counter-terrorism. Modi will address the UN General Assembly’s Future Summit in New York on September 23.

Modi said the Future Summit is an opportunity for the global community to chart a path forward for the betterment of humanity. I will share the views of one-sixth of humanity as they have the highest stake in the world in a peaceful and secure future. Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Modi to interact with Indian diaspora

Modi also said he/she looks forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important US business leaders who are key stakeholders and give vitality to the unique partnership between the world’s largest and oldest democracies. he/she will interact with the Indian diaspora at a community event to be held in Long Island, New York on September 22.
