Britain’s top university will open in Delhi-NCR, 5000 students will get admission!

Southampton University Campus in Gurugram: There is good news for Indian students studying in Britain, because a top university there is now going to open its campus in India. Actually, Southampton University of Britain is going to open its campus in India, which will be located in Delhi-NCR. 30 courses will be taught in this campus in the coming 10 years. There is a plan to give admission to 5000 students in 10 years in the campus to be built in Gurugram. According to the university officials, this branch of Southampton University will be the first branch of a foreign university in India. Although Australia’s Deacon University and Wollongong University have already opened their campuses in Gujarat’s GIFT City, but Southampton University is going to be the first foreign university to establish a campus in India under the rules of UGC. Southampton University has got a place in the top 100 in the Q ranking.

University tuition fees will be as per India

In an interview to PTI, Andrew Atherton, Vice President International and Engagement, University of Southampton, said the campus will be set up in the Delhi-National Capital Region and will begin operations next year.

According to Atherton, the tuition fees at the Indian campus will also be the same as in India. That is, the tuition fees here will be about 60 percent of the fees at Southampton’s main campus, while the admission conditions will remain the same. This prestigious university has recently received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Indian government to set up its campus in the country.

The opening of Southampton University here will open up new possibilities of development for Indian students. They will get high quality education in India without going abroad. The establishment of the university will prove to be an important milestone in adding a new chapter to the Indian education system.

The campus will be an undergraduate

Giving information about this campus, Andrew Atherton said that India’s first foreign university will be mainly an undergraduate campus, as currently there is a high demand for undergraduate programs in India. After this, it will also give students an opportunity to go abroad for post graduate masters study. he/she said that according to the plan, six courses will be started in the first year, which are expected to launch in August 2025. By the eighth year, more than 30 courses will be taught here.
