Vision 2047: 4 lane special high speed corridor will be built, there will be relief from increasing traffic and jam

New Delhi: To solve the problem of increasing road traffic load in the country and roads falling short for these, the dividers between the high speed corridors that will be built in the country will not be limited to only dividing the roads into two parts. The dividers between the high speed corridors will be made so wide that if in future that corridor has to be widened to handle the increasing traffic, then the road can be extended from two to four lanes using the space left between the dividers. In this regard, Anurag Jain, Secretary, Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), said that all the high speed corridors being built in the country now are being designed according to 2047. This will ensure that the high speed corridors being built today do not fall short according to the traffic load that may increase on the roads of the country by that time. he/she said that for this it has been decided that the divider in the middle of the expressway should not be limited to just the divider, but enough space should be left in the divider between the corridors so that if in future there is a need to widen that corridor, then that highway can be widened using the already existing space. This will have great long term benefits.

Many benefits from high speed corridor
Ministry officials said that this will have many benefits. The biggest benefit will be that if NHAI feels the need to widen the road in future as per the increasing road traffic, then they will not face any shortage of additional space. If there is not much government space on the side, then the concerned department will not have to face the problem of land acquisition.

The high speed corridor can be widened easily

The high speed corridor can be easily widened as per the requirement. Secondly, in future, if the speed of vehicles on the high speed corridor is increased from the current fixed speed of 100 kmph, then the road will also need to be widened for that. At that time, there will be no shortage of space, because, for a speed of more than 100 kmph, the width of the existing lane of the high speed corridor will be increased as per international standards, so that the vehicles speeding on the highway do not get into accidents. Officials also informed that in the high speed corridors that are still being built, additional space has been started to be left in the divider part. In this, space is being left enough to widen the roads from two to four lanes. So that by 2047, these high speed corridors can work without failing according to the increasing road traffic.
