England appointed New Zealand cricketer as coach of all three formats, a stormy change can be seen in batting

New Delhi. Brendon McCullum has become the coach of all three formats of the England cricket team. The England Cricket Board (ECB) gave this information on Tuesday. New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum was already the coach of England’s Test team. The ECB has increased his/her role and has now given him/her the command of the ODI and T20 team as well. Before McCullum, this responsibility was being handled by Matthew Watt. his/her tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2024.

After the departure of Matthew Mott, Marcus Trescothick has been appointed as the interim coach of England’s ODI-T20 team. Trescothick will remain the interim coach in the upcoming series against Australia and West Indies. Brendon McCullum will take over the role of coach of England’s ODI and T20 team from January 1, 2025. Those who know McCullum know that he/she was a stormy batsman and used to create havoc as soon as he/she came to the crease. When he/she became the coach after retirement, he/she implemented this style on the entire team, which is known as ‘Badgeball’.

England has adopted this style of their coach McCullum with ease. Now it can often be seen that England’s batsmen play attacking cricket in every situation. Even if the team is under pressure or wickets are falling, they do not come under pressure. Sometimes the team suffers from this, but overall it has benefited.

Brendon McCullum’s new contract is till the end of 2027. If there is no change in between, England will play under the guidance of the same coach for almost three and a half years. McCullum said about his/her new contract, ‘This is a new challenge and I accept it. We will take some decisions in the next few weeks. It has already started.’
