Karisma reveals- There was no restriction on women from acting in the Kapoor family, now the misunderstanding is cleared


Karisma Kapoor cleared the long-standing misconception that the Kapoor family does not allow the women of their family to work (act). She clarified that it was her mother Babita and aunt Neetu Kapoor’s personal decision to leave Bollywood. She said that the wives of Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor continued working after marriage.
Bollywood’s beautiful and powerful actress of the 90s, Karisma Kapoor, recently appeared on Zakir Khan’s show ‘Aapka Apna Zakir’. In this show, she made a shocking revelation. There was a notion that women in the Kapoor family were not allowed to act, but Karisma said that this is a misunderstanding of the people. She said that her mother Babita Kapoor and aunt Neetu Kapoor left the industry on their own will because they wanted to focus on their family. While Shammi Kapoor’s wife Geeta Bali and Shashi Kapoor’s wife Jennifer Kendal continued working even after marriage.

Karisma Kapoor was asked about the rumours that the Kapoor family does not allow its women to work and whether she was allowed to act. To this, the actress replied, ‘These are all talks about whether I was allowed or not. When my mother got married and Neetu aunty got married, it was their choice that they wanted to settle down, have children and have a good career. It was their choice.’

The 50-year-old actress further said, ‘Similarly, Shammi Uncle and Shashi Uncle’s wives, Geeta Bali ji and Jennifer Aunty, they worked after marriage. So there is no such thing that in the Kapoor family one cannot work after marriage or a Kapoor girl cannot work. There was nothing like that…’
