From technology to infrastructure… Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav listed the 4 pillars of the country’s growth

New Delhi: The Union Minister for Railways, IT and Information and Broadcasting said that the Modi government is working on four basic pillars so that every citizen of the country can benefit from development related to railways and digital public infrastructure. he/she spoke openly on these four pillars in the event of ET World Leaders Forum. Vaishnav said that investment in infrastructure, inclusive development, manufacturing and simplification of laws… are four such mantras on which the Modi government is focusing and taking the country’s growth story forward. Explaining the government’s efforts to develop public infrastructure, he/she said that earlier the budget on this was Rs 2.25-3 trillion. Now it has gone up to 11 trillion. Vaishnav said that between 2004-2014, 14985 km of rail tracks were laid in the country, but in the last 10 years this figure has reached 31000 km, which is more than the entire railway network of a country like France. A total of 5,300 km of railway track was added in the last one year, which is more extensive than the entire railway network of countries like Switzerland and Austria.

Mention of electrification of railways

Similarly, he/she also mentioned the electrification of railways and said that from 1947 to 2014, 21 thousand km of track was electrified. In the last 10 years, this figure has reached 41000 km. he/she also mentioned the world class engineering of projects like bullet train, tunnel under the sea. Vaishnav also said many things about the features of Vande Bharat train. he/she described it as one of the best trains in the world according to craft. he/she said that it is amazing that in this train running at a speed of 180 km per hour, not even a drop of water spills from a glass full of water. Vaishnav said that the trial of Vande Sleeper will also start in the coming 7 days. Vaishnav said that this government understands that railways should be within the reach of every class. In such a situation, Amrit Bharat train fulfills this purpose, in which the cost of a journey of 1500 km is just 450 rupees.

What did the Railway Minister say about the development of infrastructure?

Vaishnav said that how serious the government is about the development of infrastructure is evident from the fact that projects worth Rs 2 trillion have been approved after the third term of the Modi government came to power in June. At the same time, the result of the focus on manufacturing is that 12 industrial smart cities will also come into existence. Referring to UPI in digital public infrastructure, the Union Minister called it an important point to which every important platform is connected at present. he/she said that the Modi government believes in the democratization of technology. This is the reason why a lot of curiosity is seen in forums like G-7 and G-20 regarding the success of this system. Vaishnav said that inclusive development cannot take place in the country without developing social infrastructure.

That is why the government is putting a lot of emphasis on this. As a result, social infrastructure has doubled in 10 years. After this, Vaishnav also spoke in detail about the social schemes of the Modi government. he/she said that 4 crore houses have been built and approval has been given to build three crore more. 12 crore toilets have been built, while this government is giving free ration to 80 crore people. Along with this, Vaishnav described the growth in telecom and electronic manufacturing as a major achievement of the government. Talking in detail about semiconductors, the IT Minister said that since the time of Pandit Nehru, we wanted to make semiconductors, which has now become possible during the tenure of PM Modi. he/she said that at present 4 such units have been built in the country. he/she also described the simplification of laws as an achievement of the government.
