New Delhi: I will work three times harder in my third term… Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured the country after his/her government was formed for the third consecutive term. There are 10 days left for the first 100 days of Modi Government 3.0 to be completed. In these 90 days, the Modi government has taken a total of 73 important decisions in nine major areas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his/her cabinet colleagues that we will have to work three times harder and we will do it.

Modi’s marathon meeting with ministers

A marathon meeting of the Modi cabinet was held earlier this week. In the six-hour meeting, the ministers were briefed on the pace at which the Modi government wants to move ahead. The Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), the expansion of the PM Awas Yojana with three crore more houses and several infrastructure projects announced recently were presented as major steps. A total of 252 action points have been identified to implement the decisions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present in the meeting.

I advise all colleagues to work three times harder as a team.’ he/she further said that those coming to the cabinet meeting for the first time may feel that the meeting is taking too long as many ministers and secretaries are new. The PM said, ‘You will get used to it.’ Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that no goal is unattainable for the government and the standard should be kept high.

Poor welfare, youth, employment, annadaata, nari shakti and infrastructure have been included in the key priority list for Modi Government 3.0. Each department has been asked to list its 10 major tasks before September 5. Union ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Ram Mohan Naidu have been tasked with coordinating the process.

In fact, Modi 3.0 A presentation was made to the Prime Minister and other Union Ministers on the major decisions taken under the scheme. Top of the list of decisions was the expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Union Cabinet meeting held just after the new government was sworn in, notification of rules to crack down on exam leaks and the PM’s announcement from the Red Fort to increase the number of medical seats in the country. The new internship scheme announced in the budget was also included in the ‘in the process of implementation’ list. The scheme is to provide internships to one crore youth in the country’s top 500 companies, which benefits both the employer and the employee.

Release of PM Kisan installment, increase in MSP for various crops, approval for Polavaram project, infrastructure fund for agriculture and efforts made for availability of urea at reasonable price were listed as major steps. Lakhpati Didi Yojana was mentioned as a major decision taken for Nari Shakti.

Instructions to increase capital expenditure

Over 40 decisions taken in relation to the infrastructure sector were also part of the presentation made before the PM. However, all emphasised on accelerating spending under capital expenditure as only Rs 2.5 lakh crore has been spent so far this fiscal, while the target for the fiscal is Rs 11 lakh crore. Several rail projects, hydropower projects, metro rail projects, 12 new manufacturing clusters, eight high-speed road corridors and three new airports announced in the last three months also found mention. Also, the unveiling of deep-sea ports, enactment of three new criminal laws and five new districts announced for Ladakh were also listed as major steps of the government in the first 100 days. The list also includes decisions like BioE3 and Vigyan Dhara.
