DU Admission 2024: You will not get a seat even if you have high marks, understand the rules of college-course order

The second phase of admission to Delhi University has started, in which students are now filling the choice of course and college. Students who have completed Phase 1 in the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS UG 2024) can move towards Phase 2. Those who have not completed Phase 1 can also complete it and give college-course preference in Phase 2. There is time till August 7 for this. The opportunity to change the order of college and course will be available on ugadmission.uod.ac.in till 5 pm on August 8. After this, the choice of the students will be automatically locked. The first DU seat allocation list will be released on the 16th.

DU CSAS Choice Filling: Only those courses will be visible for which you are eligible

Students have to fill the choice of course and college in one line. The first choice should be at the top and the list should be made going down in the same way. If the student has filled four colleges for a course – A, B, C, D… then if your first choice is D, fill it first. Merit will be made on the basis of CUET score, but seats will also be allotted according to the number of seats in the colleges and the choice of the students.

If a student has a higher score than another, but he/she has placed a college lower in his/her preference list and the other student has placed it higher, then the other student may get a seat despite having a lower score. The student will see all the program and college combinations in the ‘Preference Section’ and can choose them. Like BA Political Science Honours + Miranda House, BA Political Science Honours + Hindu College etc.

DU Admission List: Score will be auto calculated

The CUET score of the student will be automatically uploaded along with the CUET registration number as the CUET UG result is provided to DU by NTA. The course mapping will be done with the class 12 subjects for which the student has given CUET. Students will then be able to view the program specific CUET score. Students who are eligible for programs will be able to view the CUET score of those subjects which will be the raw score. Till last year, it was a normalized score. The CUET score will be calculated automatically and will be displayed in the student’s dashboard.

Students must press the save button after filling every preference. Also, whenever you take a final decision on the preference order, save it. DU Dean Admissions Prof. Haneet Gandhi has advised students to fill the maximum number of preferences, because after the deadline, no other preference can be filled nor the preference can be changed.

he/she says that students often make the mistake of filling five to ten college-course preferences. In such a case, their chances of admission are reduced. Whereas admissions are to be done for about 71 thousand seats in 79 UG programs and 198 BA program combinations of 68 colleges/institutes/centers of the university.
