First meeting after Loksabha elections

This meeting was held after the presentation of the Union Budget in Parliament on July 23. The opposition has criticised the Centre for giving special attention to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh in the budget and ignoring other states. This is the first meeting after the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP’s performance in the recent general elections was disappointing and the party could not secure a majority on its own in the lower house of Parliament. However, party leaders said governance issues were at the centre of discussion in the meeting. The last such meeting was held in February.
