20 Bangladeshi intruders were trying to enter India under the cover of 4 feet high water hyacinth, BSF chased them away

New Delhi: Due to the violent protests by students in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi intruders are trying to take advantage of the BSF’s soft attitude towards students coming to India from there. The latest case is from the Bangladesh border adjoining West Bengal. Where on the night of 27-28 July, 20 Bangladeshi intruders tried to enter India taking advantage of the three-four feet high water hyacinth in the Baur lake. But they were driven back to Bangladesh by the alert BSF soldiers.

DIG AK Arya said that the incident took place around 2:30 am after midnight of 27-28 July. This incident came to light in the unfenced riverine border area of ​​North 24 Parganas. Here, three to four feet high water hyacinth has grown in Baur lake. Taking cover of this, 15 to 20 Bangladeshi intruders were trying to enter India. Intelligence input had already been received about this. Therefore, all the soldiers and QRTs deployed on the border were on alert.

The intruders fled back via the lake

Late night these intruders were seen entering India after crossing Baur lake. They were challenged to stop, but they did not listen. Five Bangladeshi miscreants even attacked a soldier. Sensing the danger, the soldier opened fire. After this all the intruders fled back to Bangladesh via the lake. Earlier also on the night of 26-27 July at 2:40 am, 10 Bangladeshi intruders had unsuccessfully tried to enter India through Kodalia river from Bangladesh side in Nadia district. Sensing this audacity of the intruders, recently BSF Additional DG (Eastern Command Kolkata) Ravi Gandhi along with all his/her wings had issued Operation Alert on Indo-Bangladesh border.
