New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for the 112th time on Sunday. Once again, he/she expressed his/her views on issues related to public concern and talked to the students who made India proud in Maths Olympiad. The PM also shared information related to Charaideo Madam of Ahom Empire and Project Pari. PM Modi said that there is an effort – Project Pari. Now do not get confused by hearing the word Pari. This Pari is not connected to heavenly imagination but is making the earth a heaven.

PM Modi mentioned Project Pari

PM Modi also gave information about the PARI project. he/she said that PARI means Public Art of India, Project PARI. It is becoming a big medium to bring emerging artists on one platform to popularize public art. You must have seen very beautiful paintings on the roadsides, walls and in underpasses. These paintings and these artefacts are made by the same artists who are associated with PARI. While this increases the beauty of our public places, it also helps in making our culture more popular.

The example given is of Bharat Mandapam in Delhi

PM Modi said that take for example Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Here you will get to see amazing art works from all over the country. You can also see such beautiful public art on some underpasses and flyovers in Delhi. I would urge art and culture lovers to also work more on public art. This will give us a pleasant feeling of being proud of our roots.

Mention of Paris Olympics in ‘Mann Ki Baat’
In ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM also mentioned Paris Olympics. he/she said that at this time Paris Olympics is in the news all over the world. Olympics gives our players a chance to hoist the tricolor on the world stage, gives them a chance to do something for the country. You too should encourage your players, cheer for India. he/she also talked to those students who have brought glory to the country in Math Olympiad. he/she said, apart from this Olympics in the world of sports, a few days ago an Olympics has also taken place in the world of maths. International Mathematics Olympiad, in this Olympiad the students of India have performed very well. In this, our team has performed the best and won four gold medals and one silver medal. Youth from more than 100 countries participate in this and our team was successful in coming in the top five. PM Modi spoke to the International Mathematics Olympiad winners on phone in the Mann Ki Baat program.

Told about Charaideu Madam

PM Modi further said that in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, now I want to share the topic, hearing which every Indian’s head will be held high with pride. But, before telling about it, I would like to ask you a question. Have you heard the name of Charaideo Maidam? If not, then now you will hear this name again and again and will tell others with great enthusiasm. Charaideo Maidam of Assam is being included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this list, it will be the 43rd site of India, but the first site of North East. This question must be coming in your mind that what exactly is Charaideo Maidam, and why is it so special.

The Prime Minister said that Charaideo means Shining City on the Hill. It was the first capital of the Ahom dynasty. The people of the Ahom dynasty traditionally kept the bodies of their ancestors and their valuables in Maidam. Charaideo Maidam is a mound-like structure, which is covered with soil on top and has one or more rooms below. This Maidam is a symbol of reverence for the late kings and dignitaries of the Ahom empire. This way of showing respect to one’s ancestors is very unique. Community worship also used to take place at this place.

Information about the Ahom Empire

PM Modi said that other information about the Ahom Empire will surprise you even more. Starting from the 13th century, this empire lasted till the beginning of the 19th century. It is a big deal for an empire to exist for such a long period. Perhaps the principles and beliefs of the Ahom Empire were so strong that it kept this dynasty alive for so long. I remember that on March 9 this year, I had the privilege of unveiling the tallest statue of the great Ahom warrior Lasit Borphukan, a symbol of indomitable courage and bravery. During this program, I had a different experience while following the spiritual tradition of the Ahom community. It is a big deal for me to have the privilege of paying respect to the ancestors of the Ahom community at Lasit Maidam. Now Charaideu Maidam becoming a World Heritage Site will mean that more tourists will come here. You must also include this site in your future travel plans.
