Movie Review: Deadpool and Wolverine’s great chemistry and strong action saved the honor of a weak story

On one side is the talkative Deadpool who cracks unfiltered jokes in a red suit and on the other side is the serious and handsome Wolverine in a yellow suit. This is such a great pair that the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were eagerly waiting for. Now when this pair has come together in the film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, their chemistry is worth watching on screen. The film is full of comedy, strong action, glimpses of many favorite superheroes of MCU fans, but what is missing is a tight and sharp story, due to which this film does not reach the heights that were expected.

The Story of Deadpool and Wolverine

The film begins with the comical entry of Wade Wilson i.e. Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), where he/she breaks the fourth wall (direct communication with the audience) in his/her usual style and tries to convince the audience that people’s favorite X-Man Wolverine is not dead. Wolverine was buried in the film ‘Logan’ (2017). Wade has to find Wolverine at any cost, because after being rejected from the Avengers and X-Men team and separation from his/her girlfriend Vanessa, Wade Wilson, who is living a normal life, is offered by Time Variance Authority agent Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) to join the eternal timeline of Earth-616.

Paradox tells that Wade’s world is about to end due to the timeline getting disrupted after Logan’s death. In such a situation, Wade now sets out to find Logan’s variant in the multiverse. After encountering many strange variants of Logan, he/she brings a sad Logan (Hugh Jackman) with him/her to TVA, but Paradox sends both of them to the desert land ‘Zero World’, where they encounter the dreaded Cassandra Nova Emma Corrin. It is famous about this place that whoever goes there, does not return. In such a situation, can the pair of Deadpool and Wolverine save their world? To know this, you will have to go to the cinema.

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ Movie Review

Directed by Shawn Levy, the real soul of this film is the pairing of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Both of them look great together on screen. There are some attractive fight sequences between them. Along with the climax, there are many action scenes which have turned out to be spectacular. In such a situation, it proves to be a visual treat for Marvel fans.

In terms of acting, while Ryan dominates with his/her comic punch lines, Hugh Jackman looks amazingly hot. It also gets full marks for the hilarious dialogues at various places, but the biggest weakness of the film is its story, which seems quite lifeless.

By the time half of the film ends, it seems that now these two superheroes will go to their world and create havoc, but that moment comes quite late. Because of this, the film starts to look flat at many places and you start getting bored. Apart from this, if you have not seen the previous films of MCU and the ‘Loki’ web series, then your brain will be shaken to understand things like this multiverse, Shunya Lok, Shashwat Rekha. But yes, if you are a fan of these superheroes and MCU, then you must watch this film once.
