Railways said that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder. On October 11, the coaches of North East Express going from Delhi to Kamakhya derailed near Raghunathpur station in Buxar, Bihar. 4 people died in this accident and more than 100 people were injured. On 13 January 2022, 12 coaches of Bikaner-Guwahati Express derailed in Alipurduar, West Bengal. 9 people were killed and 36 were injured in this rail accident.
