Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film ‘Maharaja’ released on Netflix on Friday, July 12. It is available on Netflix in multiple languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The story is based on Maharaja (Sethupathi), a man of about forty years, who lives with his/her daughter Jothi (Sanchana Nemidas). One day, Maharaja goes to the police to file a missing person report of ‘Lakshmi’.

The story revolves around a theft in the house of a barber who seeks revenge. The barber named Maharaja lost his/her wife in an accident and was shocked when some gangsters physically and sexually assaulted Maharaja’s young daughter, Jyoti. he/she goes to the police station and asks them for help, but does not get any help. That’s when Maharaja decides to take matters into his/her own hands.
