New Delhi/Mumbai: The NIA on Friday filed a chargesheet against two men, including an ISIS terrorist active in Libya, for allegedly being involved in a conspiracy to promote anti-India agenda. The anti-terror agency said in a statement that the two accused had hatched a conspiracy to recruit youths to attack sensitive institutions in India.

Zoheb was arrested in February this year

It said that Mohammad Zoheb Khan was arrested by the NIA in February this year after raids at several places. he/she has been named by the agency for conspiring to promote the anti-India agenda of ISIS along with Mohammad Shoaib Khan, a resident of Libya. The chargesheet was filed before the special NIA court here in which both have been named as the main conspirators in the terrorist conspiracy of ISIS. This case is related to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) module of Maharashtra of the global terrorist network.

The NIA, which is working to dismantle the ISIS network in India, found that both the accused had pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed Caliph of ISIS. According to the statement, as part of the conspiracy, the accused had planned to flee to Afghanistan or Turkey after carrying out a series of terrorist attacks in India. The agency also found that they were actively involved in developing websites to promote the extremist and violent ideology of ISIS.

More than 50 youths were connected from Aurangabad itself

According to the NIA, the accused had planned to attract youth from across the world to ISIS through the website. The agency said that during the investigation it was revealed that Mohammad Shoaib Khan had recruited Mohammad Zoheb Khan who had created a WhatsApp group. More than 50 youths from Aurangabad alone were added to it with the intention of radicalizing them and recruiting them for the terrorist activities of ISIS in India.
