Union Budget 2024: Youth are in for a treat, the main agenda of the government is employment, PM Modi gave a big hint before the budget


New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a meeting with top economists and experts to discuss the Union Budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was also present in the meeting. During the meeting, topics like developed India, capital expenditure (capex) and employment generation were discussed. According to the news of CNN-News18, this time the government’s focus in the budget will be more on employment generation. The Prime Minister also stressed the need to create a developed India along with generating employment. Experts and economists included Surjit Bhalla, AK Bhattacharya, Professor Ashok Gulati, Gaurav Ballabh, Amita Batra, Mahendra Dev and KV Kamath etc. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the 2024-25 budget in the Lok Sabha on July 23. Apart from economists and sectoral experts, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Beri and other members also attended the Prime Minister’s meeting.

This budget will be the biggest economic document of Modi 3.0

This will be the first major economic document of the third term of the Modi government (Modi 3.0). This budget is expected to provide, among other things, a roadmap to make India a developed nation by 2047. Addressing a joint session of Parliament last month, President Draupadi Murmu had indicated that the government would take historic steps to accelerate the pace of reforms. She also said that this budget will be an effective document of the government’s far-reaching policies and future vision. Earlier, Sitharaman has discussed the upcoming budget with various experts, including economists and bigwigs (captains) of Indian industry.

What advice did the experts give to the government?

Many experts have asked the government to give tax relief to the common man so that people can spend more. At the same time, they have suggested taking steps to reduce inflation and increase the pace of the economy. Let us tell you that the growth rate of the economy was 8.2 percent in 2023-24. Due to the Lok Sabha elections, Sitharaman has already presented an interim budget for 2024-25 in February. Many experts have urged the government to give tax relief to the common man to boost consumption and take steps to curb inflation and accelerate economic growth. Finance Minister Sitharaman, Statistics and Program Implementation and Planning Minister Rao Indrajit Singh, Chief Economic Advisor V Anant Nageswaran and economists Surjit Bhalla, Ashok Gulati among others were present in the meeting.
