SC Order on NEET: Hearing lasted for hours, Supreme Court raised these 12 big questions on the entire NEET case

NEET Supreme Court Hearing Updates: The Supreme Court on Monday said that if the integrity of the NEET-UG 2024 medical entrance exam was compromised and its question paper was leaked through social media, then re-examination should be considered. CJI DY Chandrachud, who headed the bench, further said that if the leak happened through platforms like Telegram, WhatsApp or other electronic means, it could spread rapidly.

A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra heard the matter and fixed Thursday as the next date of hearing. Recently, the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET exam, told the Supreme Court that cancelling the exam would be impractical and lakhs of honest candidates cannot be ignored without any evidence of large-scale privacy violations.

2. What was the medium of paper leak? How was it spread?
3. Has the entire exam been affected?
4. How much difference was there between the exam time and the time of paper leak?
5. Is it possible to identify the wrongdoers so that retests are conducted only for them?
6. How many students have been identified so far as paper leak beneficiaries?
7. What steps did ATA take to find out in which cities and centres the NEET paper was leaked?
8. When were the question papers sent to the locker?
9. When were the papers taken out of the locker? What was the time of the exam?
10. When and how were the papers sent abroad?
11. In whose custody were the papers? When did NTA send the papers to banks in cities? Which was the printing press and how were they transported?
12. After the paper is printed, how does the printing press send it to NTA? How many days does it take?

The Supreme Court said that if we come to the conclusion that the time gap between the leak and the actual exam is limited, then it may be against conducting the NEET exam again. In its hearing on Monday, the Supreme Court accepted that the paper has been leaked, the court will soon give its verdict on this matter and a final decision on the issue of re-conducting the paper may be taken on the next date i.e. Thursday.
