The producer had offered Farah to launch her son with ‘Happy New Year’, said he/she will give her 10 crores


Choreographer and director Farah Khan recently revealed in an interview that a producer had offered her Rs 10 crore to launch her son in the film ‘Happy New Year’. But Farah turned down that offer outright. Instead of the producer’s son, Farah signed Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah’s son Vivaan Shah for ‘Happy New Year’. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. Farah Khan shared the entire story in a conversation with writer and comedian Zakir Khan. She had invited Zakir for lunch at home. ‘Happy New Year’ was released in 2014, and was directed by Farah Khan.

‘Producer offered 10 crores to launch my son’

Farah said, ‘You won’t believe it, but during ‘Happy New Year’, a producer offered me Rs 10 crore to cast his/her son. I became ‘Jhansi ki Rani’ and said I will never do this. I will not do injustice to the film.’

‘If Shahrukh finds out then…’

Farah further said, ‘What if Shahrukh comes to know that I have taken Rs 10 crore to cast the producer’s son in the film? Never, I will not do this. I cast Vivaan Shah in the film because I thought I will cast the person who fits the character and the film perfectly.’

Shahrukh was also the producer of ‘Happy New Year’

‘Happy New Year’ was produced by Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan. This was the third film of Farah and Shahrukh together. It also starred Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Jackie Shroff. According to reports, it earned Rs 408 crore, but the story was not liked much.
