Stop it friend, Rohit Sharma is ours, cheer for Team India, whether you are from Gujarat or…

Mumbai After winning the T20 World Cup, the entire India along with Indian cricket is overjoyed. On this occasion, Team India had also organized a victory parade on Marine Drive in Mumbai, but now a controversy has arisen over it. In fact, opposition parties have targeted the team for not selecting a ‘BEST’ bus in the procession.

State Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant said, “In 2007, a BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport) bus was used in the victory procession of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team. Today, a bus was brought from Gujarat for the event. Is this not an insult to Maharashtra? Or does it mean that quality buses are not made in Mumbai? Why is the chief minister silent?”

he/she accused former Mumbai Cricket Association president and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city unit chief Ashish Shelar of selecting a Gujarat bus over BEST bus. Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar said a BEST bus should have been used for the victory procession. “We are emotionally attached to BEST buses,” he/she said.

Reacting to the allegations, senior BJP state unit leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said, “The team that won the World Cup is the Indian team, not the Mumbai or Gujarat team. Those making such divisive comments should remember this.” The bus, manufactured by Eicher and owned by Gujarat-based Moving Cart Entertainment, was registered by the Gandhinagar RTO in March 2020.

The bus owner told PTI that the double-decker, open-decker bus is usually parked in Mumbai and was not brought from Gujarat specifically for the event.
