Australia-New Zealand’s stalwarts will umpire in the India-England semi-final


Dubai. Two big contenders to win the ICC T20 World Cup have been eliminated from the tournament. Australia’s team was eliminated after losing to Afghanistan and India in the Super 8, while New Zealand’s team was eliminated from the tournament in the first round itself due to its disappointing performance. The stalwarts of these two countries have been made field umpires in the T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England.

New Zealand’s Chris Gaffney and Australia’s Rodney Tucker have been selected to umpire in the T20 World Cup semi-final. Both will be on-field umpires for the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup between India and England to be held in Providence, Guyana on Thursday. Joel Wilson will be the TV umpire in this match while Paul Reiffel will be the fourth umpire. New Zealand’s Jeffrey Crowe will play the role of match referee.

New Zealand’s Chris Gaffaney and Australia’s Rodney Tucker performed very well in domestic cricket but could never make it to the national team. New Zealand’s Chris Gaffaney scored 4711 runs in 83 first-class matches which includes 8 centuries and 24 half-centuries. Australia’s Rodney Tucker scored a total of 5076 runs with the help of 7 centuries in 103 first-class matches. he/she also has 123 wickets to his/her name in this format.

South Africa-Afghanistan semi-final umpire

At the same time, the responsibility of umpiring in the first T20 World Cup semi-final to be played between South Africa and Afghanistan has been given to the veterans of England and India. England’s Richard Illingworth and India’s Nitin Menon will umpire in this match. The first semi-final match of the tournament is to be played between South Africa and Afghanistan in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago, in which both of them will be field umpires. West Indies’ Richie Richardson has been appointed as the match referee for this match.
