T20 World Cup Semi final: India will face England, if it rains then Rohit brigade will bat-bat, know the rules

New Delhi. India has made it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup by defeating Australia in the Super-8 match. India will face England in the semi-finals. Both the semi-finals of the tournament will be played on June 27. The match between India and England will be played in Guyana, where rain is predicted. If it rains and the match is cancelled due to it, then India will get the direct benefit. Why and how… to know this, we have to know the rules of the T20 World Cup.

If rain spoils the semi-final match of T20 World Cup 2024, then India will get the benefit. The first reason for this is that no reserve day has been kept for this match. This means that either the match will be played on the same day (27 June) or if it is cancelled, the finalist team will be selected in some other way. This second method is going in India’s favor.

IND vs AUS T20 World Cup: India reached the semi-finals, Australia finished… Kangaroos’ dreams shattered

The ICC and the organizers of the T20 World Cup 2024 have decided that if the semi-final match is cancelled, the finalist team will be selected based on the result of the Super-8. If this happens, the team that wins more matches in the Super-8 will be given a place in the final. India has won all three of its matches in the Super-8, while the England team could win only two matches. That is why if the semi-final to be played in Guyana is affected by bad weather, then England will also be affected. On the other hand, India will reach the final.

Reserve day for the first semi-final
Interestingly, a reserve day has been kept for the first semi-final match of the World Cup. South Africa will play in the first semi-final. The second team for this match is yet to be decided. If it rains in the second semi-final (India vs England), the game will have to wait for 4 hours and 30 minutes to start. If this does not happen then the match will be declared cancelled.
