Who is PM Modi’s Principal Secretary Pramod Kumar Mishra

Pramod Kumar Mishra, who has once again become the Principal Secretary of PM Modi, is a 1972 batch IAS officer from Gujarat cadre. Before becoming the Principal Secretary of PM Modi, he/she has also been the Additional Principal Secretary to the PM, at the rank of Cabinet Minister and Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperation. Dr. PK Mishra has a PhD in Economics/Development Studies from the University of Sussex. Along with this, he/she has also been awarded the United Nation Sasakawa Award.

Have worked with PM Modi before

It is not that Dr Pramod Kumar Mishra has worked with PM Modi for the first time in the year 2019. Earlier, when PM Modi was the CM of Gujarat, Pramod Kumar Mishra had been his/her Principal Secretary during the year 2001-2004.

The post of Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India was created during the tenure of Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister. The Principal Secretary to the PM is the head of the Prime Minister’s Office. he/she holds the rank of Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India. Some Prime Ministers also appoint an Additional Principal Secretary, who holds the rank of Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India.
