IND vs US T20 World Cup: The match could have gone either way… Rohit’s first reaction after victory over America

New Delhi. India has made it to the Super-8 of the T20 World Cup by defeating America. America, one of the novice teams, gave India a tough challenge before losing. The Indian team, which came out to chase the target, lost the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the beginning, which reminded us of the story of Pakistan’s upset. However, India finally managed to win by 7 wickets. After registering the win, captain Rohit Sharma said that he/she knew that it would be difficult to chase the target on this pitch.

India achieved the target in 18.2 overs after restricting the US to 110 runs for 8 wickets. Player of the Match Arshdeep Singh took four wickets for nine runs for India. Suryakumar Yadav (50 not out) and Shivam Dubey (31 not out) made an unbroken partnership of 67 runs in 65 balls for the fourth wicket to give the team victory.

Rohit said after the match, ‘We knew that it would be difficult to score so many runs. The credit for achieving this goes to us. Suryakumar and Dubey performed well in the end.’ Praising the American players for giving a tough fight in the match, Rohit said, ‘We have played with many players in America. I am happy to see the development of their cricket. We have seen them playing in MLC. They are hard-working players and are making their mark in international cricket.’

On this occasion, Rohit said that he/she is feeling relieved after reaching the Super Eight but the conditions on this New York ground were very difficult. he/she said, ‘Arshdeep started brilliantly. We wanted to test our options in bowling, so Dubey also bowled. Reaching the Super Eight is a big relief. It was not easy to play here. Here every match could have gone in favor of any team.’ (Input Bhasha)
