RSS has become irrelevant, what is the use of speaking now… Congress leader targets Mohan Bhagwat

New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday targeted Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat over his/her recent remarks and claimed that when the RSS has become irrelevant, what is the use of Bhagwat speaking. Congress media cell chief Pawan Khera also said that in the last 10 years, Bhagwat had remained silent on many important issues, but is speaking now.

Bhagwat had given a statement recently
Addressing a gathering of RSS trainees at the closing ceremony of the organisation’s ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg-II’ at Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan premises in Nagpur on June 10, Bhagwat had said that there is a need for consensus between the ruling party and the opposition so that work can be done for the common people. Bhagwat had also said that elections are held to get a majority and it is a competition, not a war.

Kheda said in a statement, ‘Mohan Bhagwat, the seed you sowed is now a flourishing babul tree, doing Vrikshasan. The fault is not of the soil, the fault is of the gardener. And that gardener is you.’

Farmers’ movement and Hathras incident reminded us
he/she said, ‘When farmers were facing the wrath of weather and police outside the capital, you were silent. When a Dalit girl was raped and murdered in Hathras, you were silent. When the rapists of Bilkis Bano were released and your ideological brothers welcomed them, you were silent. When Dalits were being urinated in the mouths, you were silent. When Pehlu Khan and Akhlaq were killed, you were silent and when the connection of Kanhaiya Lal’s killers with BJP was exposed, you were silent.’ Kheda said, ‘Your (Bhagwat) silence and Narendra Modi have made you and the Sangh irrelevant. What is the use of speaking now?’

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘Bhagwat ji, do you remember that couplet of Sant Kabir: Why did you do what you did, why should you repent now? You sowed acacia tree, but where did you get mangoes from? But as they say, what’s the use of repenting now when the birds have eaten up the crop.’
