Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: Exit polls fail again! BJP does not seem to get majority alone, the slogan of crossing 400 is also a ‘jumla’

New Delhi: Looking at the trends of the Lok Sabha elections, 2024, it seems that these results are not according to all the exit polls that came earlier. In the exit polls, the BJP-led NDA alliance was estimated to get 365 seats, while the India alliance was estimated to get 145 seats. In the election trends till 10 am on June 4, the BJP-led NDA alliance does not seem to be getting a one-sided victory. It seems to be getting only 285-300 seats in total. At the same time, the India alliance seems to be getting 225-231 seats. BJP alone is also not getting the majority figure of 272.

The slogan of crossing 400 is incomplete, BJP does not even get 272

It was said in the exit polls that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen scoring a hat-trick for the third time. While in the initial counting, PM Modi himself was seen lagging behind from Varanasi seat. In one of the exit polls, it was claimed that NDA will cross 400. In the poll of polls of 13 exit polls, NDA was projected to get 365 seats and India 145 seats. Whereas, others were projected to get 32 seats. This time in the polls, BJP was shown to get more seats than the 303 seats it got in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The reality is that BJP is not even getting 272 seats on its own. It is seen getting a little more than 250 seats.

Exit polls show a big ‘game’ going on in UP

Actually, in the exit polls, a one-sided lead for the BJP was predicted in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi. It was said that the victory of the BJP is considered certain on more than 90% of the seats in these states. At the same time, the BJP was predicted to get 28 to 29 seats out of the 29 seats in MP, while in Rajasthan, the BJP was predicted to get 23 to 25 seats out of the 25 seats. In the election trends going on on Tuesday, out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats of the biggest electoral state UP, the NDA alliance is seen getting only 37 seats whereas the All India Alliance is seen getting 42 seats.

Slight advantage in Bengal and Tamil Nadu

According to the exit polls, NDA may lose 29 seats in Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The trends of the election results also show a reversal in West Bengal. Here BJP is likely to win 11-13 seats out of the total 42 seats. Whereas, in Tamil Nadu, BJP is likely to win 2 seats.

The game should not be like 2004

In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections too, BJP was predicted to get a good number of seats. But, at that time, the election results proved to be a shock to the exit polls. The ruling BJP was ousted from power. At the same time, in 2009 too, the exit polls could not predict that the Congress alliance would return to power with a huge victory. The situation was similar in the 2014 and 2019 elections too, when such a huge victory for the BJP was not claimed in any exit poll.
