Date, place and a special program… If Modi government returns, this time the swearing-in ceremony will be special

New Delhi: Even before the results, political stir has intensified in Delhi. Meetings of senior BJP leaders are being held. At the same time, news is coming out that the BJP, excited by the results of the exit polls, is planning a big political event apart from the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. This program can be organized in the capital Delhi this weekend. According to the news published in the Indian Express, this ‘political event’ is likely to be held at Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path on the day of the official swearing-in. It is being prepared to be organized as a display of ‘India’s cultural heritage’ which will possibly include a sound and light show. 8 to 10 thousand people, including representatives of foreign governments, are likely to attend it. According to a senior government official, the plan for the cultural program after the swearing-in ceremony has not been finalized yet, but it may take place on June 9. In 2019, the government took oath on May 30, a week after the results were announced. A senior BJP leader said the “political event” was discussed as well as the arrangements for hosting a “big gathering”, especially in view of the current weather conditions. “The event is believed to have been discussed by the senior leadership and several venues, from Ramlila Maidan, Red Fort to Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, have been shortlisted as options,” the party leader said.

In view of the heat, this program is likely to be organized at Bharat Mandapam or Yashobhoomi. Bharat Mandapam was the venue of the successful G20 summit and the BJP’s national executive last year. Before the counting of votes on June 4, i.e. tomorrow, the President’s Secretariat has issued a tender for decorative indoor and ornamental plants for the preparations of the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and other ministers at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 28. This tender will open today and the contractor will have five days to complete the order.

Sources said preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan began last week. According to sources, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is “already working” on the event. The Lok Sabha Secretariat is making preparations for the travel of the newly elected MPs from across the country, their arrival at airports and railway stations and their accommodation in the capital.
