New Delhi. Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is considered a mentor to young fast bowlers. Bumrah says that he/she does not try to teach much to young pacers. Before the T20 World Cup 2024, Bumrah told that he/she helps them only when someone asks him/her. he/she does not want to burden the bowler without asking anyone. The Indian team is currently in the US for the T20 World Cup. Bumrah’s role in Team India will be important in this tournament. Mohammad Siraj and young Arshdeep Singh, who are part of the Indian team, can get a lot to learn from Bumrah.

It is believed that Bumrah will also play the role of a mentor for less experienced fast bowlers like pacers Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Bumrah told the official website of the ICC for the T20 World Cup, ‘You don’t try to teach too much. This is something I have learned. Whenever someone comes to me for help, I let him/her ask questions because I don’t like to give too much information.’

Bumrah said that it is important for young players to pave their way without taking the burden of too much information. According to Bumrah, ‘It is not that he/she has reached here by the help of luck. I give him/her information about whatever I have learned from my experience. But I do not want to put too much burden of information on him/her because this is also a part of your journey. You have to find your own ways and solutions to move forward.’

‘All these things will be part of my process’
Due to injury, Bumrah could not participate in the T20 World Cup in 2022, but after making a comeback, he/she performed brilliantly in the ODI World Cup in 2023. he/she said, ‘Some things will happen according to me and some things will not happen according to me. All these things will be part of my process. So I have now realized that I have started playing because I like this game and will focus on these things instead of the result.’ India will play its first match in the T20 World Cup against Ireland on June 5. After this, Team India will take on Pakistan on June 9. The Indian team has reached America with the intention of ending the 17-year title drought.
