‘Panchayat Season 3’ Review

This third season of ‘Panchayat’ web series is also as interesting and entertaining as the previous two seasons. It makes you enjoy every taste, every spice with which you are watching it with anticipation. Although there are definitely shortcomings in the main plot of this third season, the producer and director have compensated for it with many parallel events. So, your attention does not get distracted. The character of Jitendra Kumar i.e. Secretary is not at the center of the story of this season. Rather, the focus has been on the other characters of the series like Bhushan/Banrakas, his/her wife Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar), Prahlad (Faisal Malik), Binod (Ashok Pathak), Chandrakant Singh, MLA. The environment of the ‘Panchayat’ series is such that it has a different attraction and you feel it even in the third season. It blows like a gust of cool breeze under the banyan tree in the hot afternoon and finally signals the fourth season.

This season ‘Panchayat’ has been made an event based series. This is kind of a double-edged sword, as viewers who want to see the original story of Secretary Abhishek Tripathi may be a little disappointed. But one advantage is that new viewers of the series can easily connect with this season without much effort. In the third season, the producer-director has taken full care that the flavor of ‘Panchayat’ remains intact. It should have all the attractive ingredients, for example, village environment, village dialect, desi-ness, everything.

Bhushan and Binod’s scenes win your heart throughout the season. Their chemistry and Binod’s clear way of speaking is magical. More attention has been given to the character of Prahlad. Other characters like Jagmohan and his/her mother are also in the headlines this time. The rivalry between the residents of Phulera and the local MLA has now come out into the open. The village scenes have been kept in the screenplay in such a way that they look absolutely real and it is fantastic.

Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi has given a above super performance. But in this third season, nothing new has been added to his/her character. This time Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav are at the center of the story. Chandan Roy as Vikas has once again looked excellent. Faisal Malik’s character as Prahlad has been expanded and he/she impresses with his/her powerful performance. This season will be remembered for the performances of Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan and Ashok Pathak as Binod.

Earlier it was believed that ‘Panchayat’ web series would end with the third season, but it is not so. The events of this season show that the makers are going to continue this series further. The show remains entertaining and the makers deserve praise for this. However, this time the plot is lacking. The entire season is based on events. The charm of the characters remains and the biggest feature of the show is its simplicity which once again wins hearts.

Why watch- ‘Panchayat’ is one of those rare shows where the actor or should we say his/her character becomes bigger than the story. You like simplicity and desi-ness, if you want to see something in the scorching heat which gives comfort to the heart and mind like a cool breeze, then definitely watch ‘Panchayat Season 3’.
