Regarding BJP calling the matter of winning 370 seats a slogan, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that I do not think that PM Modi has mentioned any number just like that. he/she said that some consideration has been given to this. It is clear from this that we will be successful in maintaining our position in many states. Apart from this, we will increase our seats in some states like Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The Foreign Minister said this in an interview given to a TV channel. On BJP’s claim that it will do well in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal, the External Affairs Minister said the BJP is a ‘professional, serious’ party and does not rely on projections. he/she said that we analyze at the booth level and move upwards. The External Affairs Minister said, when we say that we will get so many seats in this state, a lot of thought has been given to it.

When asked which number would he/she choose if he/she had to bet on the seats the BJP will get in the upcoming elections. In response to this question, Dr. Jaishankar said that he/she will leave the exact numbers to the election experts. he/she said that I am feeling a pro-incumbency wave in many states. Jaishankar said that there is a lot of positive in our side. I think our vote share may increase by five percentage points compared to 2019, it may even be more than that. he/she said that based on my experience, I think our numbers will not go down but will increase.

Jammu and Kashmir’s relation with 370?

Many people have linked BJP’s 370+ target to the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir by the Narendra Modi government. People say that by winning 370 seats, the party wants to dedicate it to its leader Syama Prasad Mukherjee. In August 2019, a few months after the Modi government was re-elected for a second consecutive term, the law granting ‘special status’ to Jammu and Kashmir was repealed. The Center had divided the erstwhile state into two existing union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. BJP has set a target of winning 370 seats on its own and more than 400 seats in collaboration with NDA.
