[ad_1] New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given time to the Center's lawyer to amend the Constitution and get instructions on the petition requesting the government request to give instructions to 'India' or 'Hindustan' instead of the word 'India'. The petition came for a hearing before Justice Sachin Dutta on 4 February and the court kept it on 12 March for further hearing. The petitioner says that the name 'India' is a sign of the colonial past. This name does not reflect our culture.Petition was first filed in Supreme CourtThe court said, "Initially the lawyer of defendant number one and four (Center) present on advance information has sought some time to receive instructions." The petitioner had earlier also filed a petition in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court considered this petition as a memorandum in 2020. The court had said that the concerned ministries can consider it. Now the petitioner has filed a petition in the High Court. They demand that the officers decide on their memorandum. What is the plea of the petitioner? The petition said, 'The petitioner currently has no option but to knock the door of this court through the petition, as there is no update from the defendants about any decision taken on the petitioner's memorandum. ' The petitioner argues that the name 'India' does not represent the culture and traditions of the country. By converting this name to 'India', citizens will get rid of 'colonial burden'. The petition demands amendment to Article 1 of the Constitution. This article belongs to the name and region of the union. The debate of the Constituent Assembly was also mentioned in 1948The petition also mentions the debate of the Constituent Assembly in 1948. The debate took place on Article 1 of the then draft Constitution. It has been said in the petition that even at that time there was a demand for the name of the country to be named India or Hindustan. The petition said, "However, the time has come to recognize its original and authentic name i.e. India, especially when the names of our cities have been changed to an identity in accordance with Indian ethos."The petitioner believes that the name of many cities has been changed to Indian culture, similarly the name of the country should also be changed. This change will show the real identity of the country. [ad_2]
