9 wickets fell in 61 runs, the whole match turned upside down, Bangladesh took lead over West Indies

Kingston. The second match of the Test series being played between West Indies and Bangladesh is changing every day. On the second day, the match seemed to be in the favor of the host team, but after a day, Bangladesh strengthened its hold. The lethal bowling of fast bowler Nahid Rana and the aggressive batting of captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj made the team make a strong comeback. Bangladesh took a strong lead of 211 runs on the third day of the second Test cricket match against West Indies.

Rana took five wickets for 61 runs and played an important role in bowling out West Indies for 146 runs in the first innings. Bangladesh had scored 164 runs in its first innings and thus gained a lead of 18 runs. Rana took five wickets in an innings for the first time in his/her Test career. By the end of the third day’s play, Bangladesh had scored 193 runs for five wickets in their second innings. his/her total lead has become 211 runs.

Bangladesh batted aggressively. Captain Mehdi scored 42 runs on 39 balls while Shahadat Hussain scored 28 runs on 26 balls. Both of them made a partnership of 50 runs in only 29 balls. Before this, opener Shadman Islam played an inning of 46 runs. When the third day’s play was ended early due to bad light, Ali was playing on 29 and Taijul Islam was playing on nine runs.

At the end of the second day’s play, West Indies’ score was 70 runs for 1 wicket and their innings was reduced to just 146 runs. Started its first innings by 70 runs for one wicket but lost its last nine wickets within 61 runs. Only three West Indies batsmen reached double digits. In these, captain Kraigg Brathwaite contributed 39 runs and Casey Carty contributed 40 runs. This is only the second time that Bangladesh has taken the lead despite scoring less than 200 runs in the first innings. Earlier in 2008, against South Africa, it had taken a lead of 22 runs after scoring 192 runs in the first innings.
