8th Pay Commission approved, Modi government hit so many targets with one stone

New Delhi : The long-running wait of central employees seems to be ending. The central government has taken a big decision amid Delhi elections. The government decided to constitute the 8th Pay Commission to revise the salaries of central employees and allowances of pensioners. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to constitute the 8th Pay Commission. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2016 and its term is ending in 2026. About 48.62 lakh central employees and 67.85 lakh pensioners will benefit from this decision of the Central Government. Elections are going to be held in Delhi on 5 February. In such a situation, this decision of the Center is also being linked to the elections.

many birds with one stone

According to experts, the Central Government has taken a big decision before the elections which are considered very important for BJP. Central employees were waiting for this announcement for a long time. In such a situation, it is being said to be a big bet of BJP just before the elections. According to experts, there is a good number of central employees in Delhi. In such a situation, the party is definitely hoping to convert this announcement into votes in the elections.

Delhi’s three assemblies are important

The three assembly constituencies of Delhi are very important from the point of view of central employees. This includes New Delhi, Delhi Cantt and RK Puram seats. Different employees of different departments of the Central Government live in these areas. Even though BJP had won all seven seats in the Lok Sabha elections last year, this election had given a special signal.

Bansuri Swaraj had won the election from New Delhi seat but had lagged behind in the assembly which has a majority of government employees. There are 10 assembly seats in New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. Bansuri Swaraj was lagging behind in all three seats out of a total of 10, which have a majority of central employees. Bansuri was lagging behind by 2200 votes in New Delhi seat. In Delhi Cantt this difference was of 1200 votes. At the same time, in RK Puram also she was behind by 900 votes.

Will New Delhi seat be affected?

Political analysts are also looking at this announcement of the Central Government by linking it to the New Delhi seat. The highest number of government employees in Delhi is in New Delhi seat only. In such a situation, BJP is counting on this announcement of central employees to take lead in New Delhi seat also. Former CM and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal is contesting from New Delhi seat.

Here Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against former BJP MP Pravesh Verma. At the same time, Congress has given ticket to Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, from this seat. In such a situation, Kejriwal seems to be trapped in a triangular contest on this seat. In such a situation, it has to be seen what effect this decision of the Center has on the election results of New Delhi Assembly seat.
