Kela Pass is the highest motorable pass in the country. It connects Leh to Pangong Lake. Its altitude is 18,600 feet above sea level.

Security forces will benefit

With an aim to improve connectivity for tourism, economic activities and smooth movement of defense forces, the Ladakh administration had stressed the need for new tunnels at four passes at Khardung La, Fotu La, Namika La and Kela in 2022 first.
