758 times he/she mentioned his/her name and 232 times that of Congress… Who all names did PM Modi take in election rallies? Kharge told

New Delhi: The election campaign for the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections has ended today. Voting for the seventh phase will be held on May 1 and the election results will be declared on May 4. Meanwhile, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the people of the country will give the mandate of an alternative government on June 4 and the INDIA alliance will get an absolute majority and give the country an inclusive and nationalist government. Taking a dig at PM Modi, Kharge said, in his/her public meetings in the last 15 days, the Prime Minister took the name of Congress 232 times, took his/her own name 758 times, took the name of INDIA alliance and the opposition 573 times, but did not talk about unemployment even once.‘Modi took his/her name 758 times in the meetings’
In an interview to a news channel, the Congress chief claimed that Prime Minister Modi did not talk about unemployment even once in his/her rallies. In the last 15 days, he/she took the name of Congress 232 times, his/her own name 758 times, India alliance and opposition 573 times. Kharge said, ‘Prime Minister Modi talked about temple-mosque and dividing the society 421 times during the election campaign. he/she also used words like Muslim, minority 224 times. But the Election Commission did not take any action on this.’

‘Congress works for the problems of the people’
Kharge said, ‘Congress always works keeping in mind the problems of the people. When Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi was the head of UPA, we brought such schemes for the poor, which benefited the poor. But Narendra Modi promoted issues like unemployment, inflation, economic inequality, misuse of constitutional institutions.’ he/she said, ‘We fought against these issues, in which we got full support of the people. Therefore, I congratulate all my colleagues, who are fearlessly standing to protect democracy.’

Congress chief accuses Modi government
Kharge alleged, ‘Not allowing the opposition to speak in Parliament, suspending opposition MPs, passing bills without discussion, all these will be written in black letters for the previous government.’ he/she alleged that this government has ended the democratic process. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Modi, the Congress President said, ‘The Prime Minister considers himself an incarnation of God. BJP leaders are also calling him/her a form of God.’

How will the opposition’s PM face be chosen?
Kharge said on Thursday that the people of the country are going to form the INDIA alliance government on June 4. he/she said, after the victory of the INDIA alliance, the decision on the Prime Minister will be taken on the basis of talks with the constituent parties. Kharge said that the people have approved the opposition and Congress’s statement that if the Modi government comes back, democracy will end. he/she claimed that in this election, the BJP tried to divide, but people chose the real issues.

What did Kharge say on the question of ‘Dalit PM’?
On the question of ‘Dalit Prime Minister’, Kharge said, ‘I never said that I am a Dalit, so give it. The party has given everything. It is Sonia Gandhi’s gift. She made me the leader of the opposition and also the AICC (President). Whatever decision is taken in our party, we will work according to that. It is not that I am going to ask for anything just because I am a Dalit. I have not asked for anything till now.’

A direct target on PM Modi
Kharge targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his/her comment on Mahatma Gandhi and said that either the Prime Minister is ignorant or he/she has not read it. he/she said, ‘The whole world knows Mahatma Gandhi. his/her statue is installed in front of the United Nations Headquarters. Mahatma Gandhi’s statues are installed in many countries of the world. he/she took a dig at Prime Minister Modi and said that if he/she does not know about Mahatma Gandhi and his/her work, then he/she may not know about the Constitution either. he/she said that after June 4, in his/her free time, the Prime Minister should read Mahatma Gandhi’s biography ‘My Experiments with Truth’.
